Although I appreciate you having your opinion, I do not think it suitable to come into a thread I have created to try and be informative to those who might have been looking for the things that I was today, and slander/slag off a game that you obviously do not like.
Its fine if you do not like it, completely fine - but there is another thread that you could have posted this in, alas then you might have less of a chance of causing controversy.

Could I ask a mod to move that post or delete it? The last thing I want is a flame war here when I have created this post purely to try and give the people that do enjoy this game somewhere where all information regarding it can be posted

To be honest what games are not repetitive at their core? FPS and 3rd person shooters... kill every mother frag around you.

Car racing... wow i just completed my 50th lap of the circuit and recieved an engine upgrade. Now I have to do 3 more races to afford another engine upgrade
Nascar racing "Huck another LEFT TURN"

Endwar is no more repetitive than your standard strategy game. It may not have as many units but in doing so allows you to strategist with what you do have.

This game is freaking pathetic....its so repetitive you may as well be sitting in your room, rocking backwards and forwards muttering "alpha one move to bravo" or "alpha two attack foxtrox"

Was having a discussion with Frozza about this last night, concerning the Deep strike ability that is unlocked in the barracks.

EndWar Strategy: Advanced Tactics using Deep Strike

During a heated battle a couple of nights ago, my opponent asked how I was able to send and land my Riflemen on his uplinks, so I figure there were several of you that may not know how to use Deep Strike. Deep Strike is one of the most useful abilities in EndWar, Deep Strike is to EndWar, what a Queen is to Chess; an open ended ability, able to turn the tables of the game at any given time.

On this post I will explain how to use Deep Strike effectively, when to avoid using Deep Strike, and advanced tactics and strategies using the Target Designator and Electronic Warfare.

First, you will need to go to the Barracks and purchase this ability for your Riflemen: ABILITY 2 Air Mobility Systems, rank requirement is recruit, which enables you to use this feature with all of your Riflemen units.

The Basics of Deep Strike

Now, to use the Deep Strike ability during the game, you�ll need at least 10 Command Points or CPs for short, 2-4 CPs to pay for the Rifleman, plus 6 for the Deep Strike itself. First, select and deploy a Riflemen unit, keeping this unit�s card highlighted, you will notice an option in green letters that reads �Deep Strike�, so as you deploy your Rifleman unit, point with your cursor anywhere you want them to land and press A (X for PS3)� a reminder that this option costs 6 CPs will appear, press A again (X for PS3) to confirm.

You can also use the voice command for this action, for example, before confirming or pressing A for a second time, say: unit 1 (or whichever unit you are deep striking) move to Zulu (or which ever uplink you want them to go to).

Remember, you can also send your Riflemen anywhere on the map by simply pointing the cursor anywhere on the map and selecting it as the Target for your Deep Strike. You must do this before they start ropelling down from the chopper into your default deployment area.

Avoid Deep Strike

Avoid sending your Riflemen �Deep Strike� into an uplink where you know there is a high concentration of enemy units, your Riflemen unit will be killed before they are able to secure that uplink, and you would have wasted 10 CPs and have gotten one of your units killed for nothing in return.

Avoid Deep Striking when you don�t have other units deployed, as this option will drain your CP bar and you will be unable to call for reinforcements which could lead to an easy �annihilation� of your remaining units.

Advanced Tactics using Deep Strike

Deep Striking a Riflemen unit as Behind Enemy Line Observers: deep strike your riflemen near the enemies� default landing zone and hide in a building, forrest or any structure available. This tactic will allow you to view which units the enemy is deploying and if Air Strike is available, allow you to Air Strike the enemy�s unit as soon as they land.

Deep Striking a Riflemen unit as Target Designators: to use this tactic you will first need to purchase two upgrades from the Barracks: Riflemen�s Target Designator (ABILITY 4 Rank Requirement Hardened) and Artillery�s MLRS (Attack 3 Rank Requirement Hardened), once you have purchased these two upgrades, Deep Strike one of your Riflemen units near the enemy, hide in a building, forest or any structure available, making sure you have a clear view of the enemy forces. Assuming you have deployed a Hardened Artillery, while viewing your Riflemen�s camera, target any enemy unit with your Riflemen and then, without changing cameras, select your Artillery�s card and press Y (Triangle for PS3) to shoot your Artillery�s MLRS special attack. Your Artillery unit does not need to be in range for this to work, in fact your Artillery could be across the map and the MLRS will still land on the target your Riflemen have selected.

Deep Strike Decoys: using your Riflemen as target designators can only work for a couple of times before a savvy EndWar player figures out what is going on and starts searching every building looking for your Riflemen unit. In order to counter getting your Riflemen unit caught, I will show you how to use a Gunship and Electronic Warfare as decoys.

Deep Strike a Riflemen unit near the enemy line while at the same time moving a Gunship near by where the enemy can spot you, but not shoot at you, this Gunship will work as a decoy to your Deep Strike riflemen unit, as the enemy will think you are calling strikes on his units using this Gunship and continuously try to destroy this Gunship while completely ignoring to search for your Riflemen unit.

Using Electronic Warfare and Target Designator with Deep Strike: this tactic is a great way to frustrate your opponent, using your Deep Strike Riflemen and hiding in cover, call Electronic Warfare on the enemy unit you want to attack and immediately attack that unit with your Artillery�s MLRS, this will cause your enemy to be unable to view his unit�s status. The MLRS will hit the enemy�s unit while it�s jammed on Electronic Warfare and when the effect has worn off, your opponent�s unit will be either destroyed or have 1/4 of health. Your opponent will never know what happened to his unit.

Honestly, there is a few minor voice glitches people notice, but I do not think it is a bug in the game as much as the difference in how we all say things.

For example, your commands are structured in this way:

Structure: WHO------WHAT------WHERE
Voice Command: Unit 2-----Move to-----Alpha

I myself, when I say 2, it thinks I am saying 8 - if I draw out the number 2 (twoo instead of two) it recognizes it fine... in the heat of battle this was a pain to remember but I got used to it.

I also have a problem with Three, because I pronounce the "th" noise more, it tends to think I am saying 5, to get around this I say "Tree".
I feel like a goose saying Unit Tree, especially since my Sister's BF surname is Tree :p, but it works.

The actual online play works extremely well I feel, I have noticed a little lag - but nothing game ruining - since its a strategy game a little lag is not much of a problem. Usually I have noticed it from when I say a command, a 1 second delay on and off until it is executed. Seems to happen mainly, of course, with players from overseas or people with crap connections.

The Theater of War, at least to me, is a little daunting - you can play normal skirmish games, which are one off unranked battles that do not use your persistent battalion which is great for practice, especially if you 2v2 more than 1v1 (like myself)
The reason Theater of War is intimidating, is because it uses a MMO type system where the more you play the more you rank up due to your units gaining experience if they survive a battle. That's right, if they survive. In a nutshell, when a unit is destroyed they are just incapacitated and the enemies units cease fire on that unit unless given an order to continue via button press, in which case the enemy will continue firing until your units are actually killed.
A killed squad of units (every unit is in a group, for example tanks come in groups of 4) loses all experience it has gained and is dropped down to Recruit rank... the rank they enter with.

That reason alone makes it daunting, but at the same time I think it gives you an amazing level of attachment to your units, especially those that have been with you for awhile and have served you well in each battle.
At early ranks, like where Frozza and I are now (I am rank 2, he is rank 3 or possibly 4 now) it does not matter so much since most of your units will be ranked at Recruit. I myself only have 2 lots of tanks that are ranked as regular so far.

Yeah and this is the first war that has been held, each turn lasts around 24hrs, so a day a piece - you have a certain number of maps to play on based on the current position of your front line, and each sides accumulative wins count towards whether or not that faction will keep/lose the territory/map in question.
