[Game On] Halo 3 2v2 Tournament - Sunday 1st March

PostPosted: Fri 06 Feb, 2009 5:01 pm

Calendar Event: March 1, 2009
Event type: LAN

Posted image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

On the first day of Autumn, Game On gave to me... a 2v2 game of Halo 3!

Game On is once again holding a Halo 3 2v2 tournament. With a mix of "MLG style" and "Classic" style tournaments of the past, anyone can just pick up a controller, play and have fun. So grab yourself a team mate, and throw your MKVI helmet into the ring!

The Rundown:

When: Sunday, March 1st, 10am-4pm
Where: Game On Interactive, Miranda (Sydney)
Entry Cost: $20 per person
Format: Halo 3 2v2 Tournament
Equipment: All equipment (TVs, xboxes, controllers, games) are provided. Feel free to bring your own controllers, just make sure everything is clearly marked as being your property.
Prizes: Both teammates in the winning team will receive a BELKIN N1 Vision Wireless Router, valued at over $300 each.

Please discuss with your partner FIRST before registering. Please do not register if you are unsure whether you both are available to attend.

Doors open at 9am, with the tournament starting at 10am on the dot. The tournament will finish by 3-4pm. Those attending who don't make the finals can play till 4pm at no extra cost. Stick around for some big team Halo 3 action, or try out another of Game On's expanding collection of Xbox 360 games.

No team mate? No worries! Post your details in this thread, and we'll attempt to match you up with other players.

TEAMS REGISTERED:

1. HaC - Satiex & Pyroteq
2. Permanent Threat - Suspect & Taunted
3. Break Even - smoky dark & Weasel
4. 2770/TE - Omen & Fearless
5. Carried - xaHcx Gunner & Fear Dealer
6. Ninjab1tches or Ninjakids - Eshy Eshy & Rakeial
7. Care Bear Rainbow Club - Tomeh & Lenny
8. Evolution Soldiers - Ben & Brandon

LONE GUNS:

Players without team mates will be added to this list.

GAMETYPES:

The gametypes will be a mixture 2v2 slayer and objective games, on the original and Heroic maps.

[Thanks for your input on this guys, we'll definitely take all suggestions into consideration. There seems to be some debate as to the inclusion of Objective game types in the rotation. I'll be putting up a poll in a separate thread to hopefully decide the issue.]

Getting There:

Where: Game On Interactive
Address: Shop 1, 591, The Kingsway, Miranda (Sutherland Shire area) (near Westfield Shoppingtown Miranda, opposite Miranda Hotel)

Public Transport:
Refer to the Cityrailwebsite for the Train Timetable.

1) You'll have to catch a train that is on the 'Illawarra' line (marked blue on the city rail map)
2) The train to catch is marked as a 'Cronulla' Train. Catch this train ONLY. DO NOT catch a train marked Waterfall or Dapto.
3) Once on the train, get off at 'Miranda' train station. It is about a 45 minute ride from Central station.

Walking from Miranda Station:
Once you are out of the station, walk up Kiora Road. You should be passing Westfield Shoppingtown. At the first big intersection, take a LEFT onto 'The Kingsway'. Then cross the road so you are on the opposite side from where the Westfield is located. You should be able to see Game On Interactive from there. It is opposite Miranda Hotel / Carmens Nightclub (grey/dark blue building).

Please refer to the map below:

I know objective is shit in 2v2's but we cant just play 4 maps all day.

MLG TS: Guardian, Onslaught, The Pit, Construct, Cold Storage, Isolation, Narrows, Blackout
MLG Ball: Guardian
MLG Hill: The Pit

Just my opinion.

The maps you listed are fine, except for the objectives. I do like the inclusion of Cold Storage, best map in the game. We just need a version of it with no "Items"

Ball on Guardian in 2v2 would be horrible. We can have more maps but no objectives please. =)

I play Team Doubles in match making a fair bit and I must say when Guardian Ball comes up it isn't a bad change to play.. too much team slayer gets boring.
