Just want to know what peoples thoughts are with Nintendos New Product....Theories on what the guts will be. It's going to be their first HD gaming system. Shall be interesting despite a rather stupid name. |

It will be a frag joke like the original Wii was, but it will sell a frag load of units because its Nintendo and you can play the same old frag Mario Bros game Ive had on every frag nintendo system since 1981. Its like Apple, its a mentality.... |

Nintendo's games are wash, rinse, repeat. |

Rumors so far speculate that the wii u has 50% more processing power than the ps3.
And nintendo recently confirmed they won't be using dvd or blu ray as a format.
I wonder if they'll bring back cartridges |

They'll need all that processing power to play Super Mario Bros. The best and most useless feature I have seen thus far is when your kid comes in to watch Hi-5 and the the hot asian chick isnt on you can simply pick up the oversized frag-up of a controller and keep playing the same game from your 50% more powered Wii U than a PS3 and continue playing your HD hardcore 3D unreal engine powered game on the controller panel.
Awesome. |

I think it's going to fail coz...its going to be their first HD gaming console...atleast sony and M$ learned from their mistakes...Nintendo is entering the race sooo late. Having another pricey system on the market won't help :/ |

Well it will all depend on what games are released. Given Nintendo has had not so great relationships with third party developers in the past, there may be some issues for them here.
Really Zelda or Mario in HD will not be sufficient to get me on board. But I'll have a look once we see what is actually released. |

I understand it will only support 1 controller per console,so no split screen play.
Will it have a version of system link ?
Does it only have the inbuilt wi-fi for connection to internet ?
I'm very much a wired person when it comes to the internet & controllers to my current consoles.
Theres alot we don't know yet,but as much as I would like to play some Nintendo games
franchises.
This as yet has not got me excited enough to buy there console. |

I got the kids a WiiU for Christmas and it is fantastic! (for them).
I like the game pad controller and the Nintendo Land game disc has a few great games that showcase the idea of different perspectives. ie Player1 looking at gamepad Player 2 looking at TV.
I thought I would be taking it back to swap for another XB360 or even a PS3 but I think it is a keeper.
I was dissapointed to read that it will not play Blue-rays as this was the clincher feature that I bought it for. (the EB guy said it would)
My Daughter is 10 and she loves it, and the Nintendo type games that go with it.
It will probably not apeal much to hardcore online shooter type gamers though.
It really shines as a 2 player console where you dont have to use link, split screen or go online to enjoy a full screen each.
I would like to see a game like Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow on it where the perspectives, UI and HUD are different for the team you are playing for (spy or mercenary), and where stealth and tacticts are paramount.
I didn't like the wii at all, but the wiiU adds a fresh and interesting twist to gaming as we know it. |

Long time no see dogs!
I'm never going to get a Wii U, I think I'm past Nintendo stuff period. Even my kids
aren't interested in it they much rather play the 360 or use an iphone or ipad. |
