Sadly Red Dingo lost his battle with depression and passed away some weeks ago now, not that i want the how's and why's to be discussed on this thread as i think it would be inappropriate.

The reason we would like to host a Black Dog Institute charity day is firstly to celebrate his life and secondly to let people know that theres great organisations out there like the Black Dog Institute and Lifeline that can help, and are only a phone call away.

for those than can't read between the lines, "depression" being a key word, could we safely assume it was self inflicted?

depression is a terrible thing, my wifes cousin ended his own life just before xmas.

Thanks for the posts and pm's of support, i realise that many of you live far away from our store, but still want contribute to this important event.

You can make donations directly to the Red Dingo memorial site at the Black Dog Institute using the following URL.

http://www.everydayhero.com.au/reddingo

Thanks again for the support.

When I first heard the news I was really saddened as Red Dingo was actually the one who first brought me to Game On and introduced me to the community there.

I will be there but I have an online tournament that day so I will most likely be playing it from the store.

Hi All,

I have had a few questions about this event on Sunday.

Firstly theres no hard start and finish to the charity event, just come along to show your support at any stage during the day.

The web page weve set up http://www.everydayhero.com.au/reddingo is hosted by The Black Dog Institute, and you will be able to see how many funds weve been able to donate after the event using this link. For those who cant make it, but still wish to contribute in some way, i encourage you to make a small donation on that website for a great cause.

Lastly, the day is about celebrating Red Digo's life, so come armed with your best memories of the guy and ready to play, i for one plan to crank up midship on Halo 2 in rememberence (of how many times he patiently stalked me on this map, throwing a sticky grenade on the back of my head just when i thought i had gotten away.)
