When you think of war you think of guns, tanks, air strikes and destruction… you think of The Outfit. THQ and Relic Entertainment bring you a unique third person squad-based shooter, set during World War II where you are sent behind enemy lines to defeat the Nazi regime with any means necessary. The war doesn’t stop there as you can bring your battles online and battle with or against friends to cause utter destruction around the world.

During the singleplayer campaign you take control of The Outfit an elite force from which you are sent out to complete the most daring and suicidal missions in order to ensure success against the Nazis. You have the choice of three elite soldiers, a rifleman, a heavy arms specialist and an anti-tank specialist as well as 4 additional soldiers who are under your command. As The Outfit you have more power than ever in the form of the Destruction on Demand (activate this menu by pressing Y) where you can call in reinforcements when needed, call in several types of tanks and vehicles, order in artillery emplacements as well as call for an air strikes. Though nothing in life is free, in order to order anything in the destruction on demand menu you must have Field Units (money) which you get from killing the enemy as well as having to secure specific advantage points such as the motor pool which will allow you to order tanks and the radio tower so you can call for an air strike.

There are 12 missions in total all of which are incredibly fun due to that fact that everything is pretty much destructible though the missions aren't very difficult as when you are killed you just respawn over an over again at several advantage points then again this is not a bad thing as it suits how the game play in structured. The missions themselves are very linear as you pretty much follow a specific path though the destruction on demand menu allows you to create a different experience each time as you trial and error your way through the game planning how to attack and defend a specific scenario. Story wise you are taken on a unique adventure set during World War II where The Outfit is sent out to complete missions from which the army are unable to complete in order to ensure continued success against the Nazis. The games story is filled with plenty of twists and turns leaving you hanging for what’s going to happen next and perfectly sets the scene for each mission.

Though The Outfit only takes about 10-12 hours to complete there are several achievements/medals which can be unlocked in certain situations during the single player campaign. When you unlock these mdeals you will also unlock the cheats menu (the more achievements/medals unlocked the more cheats available). When you have completed single player campaign there is also the option to go through the missions with a friend via co-op though the missions don’t directly change, the experience will always differ as you play alongside a friend. Co-op can be played both online or offline with one other person.
